Do You Suffer from Swirl Envy?

Swirling a glass of wineHave the following scenarios ever happened to you?

Have you ever listed to “Wine People” speak and felt as if you were either: a) listening to a foreign language; or b) an idiot? Have you watched people swirl their glasses of wine and thought that the better the person swirled, the more knowledgeable about wine that person must be? Have you felt self-conscious when these people look at you as if you’re a knuckle-dragging beer drinker? Did you desire to have that kind of wine cool? If that’s the case, then you, my friend, are suffering from the dreaded “Swirl Envy.”

How do you combat this feeling of being a Neanderthal in the midst of the highly evolved? Is there a solution? Of course there is!

The Combatting Swirl Envy course and series of classes will start you on the path from being a wide-eyed Neophyte to that of a full-fledged, bona fide Wine Snob - and how to carry it off with panache and without the snootiness!

The course is designed to teach you how to hold a wineglass, what swirling is and why Wine People seem to “play” with their wines, how to avoid wine racism, receive a grounding in Basic Winespeak, and how to be a Wine Snob without being an actual snob. We also go into the history of bottles, how to care for your wine, glassware, tackling wine lists, and more.

A fun and informative course that will have you swirling, sniffing, sipping, and spitting like a pro, this is for the truly intimidated and uninitiated Wine Neoophyte.

Look for a schedule of classes in early July, 2008.
